A new addition to this year’s festival is the programme we call CRNA OVCA JAZZ MASTERCLASS by Zvjezdan Ružić.

It is a three-day music education programme designed for musicians who want to refine their jazz skills by learning directly from proven masters. The programme is led by Zvjezdan Ružić, a pianist and composer whose music has been heard from concert halls in Zagreb to stages across the United States, Japan, and China. He is the proud owner of five Porin Awards and six Status Awards from the Croatian Musicians Union, which honour him as the best jazz pianist in the country.

Ružić has performed across Europe, Asia, Australia, and the Americas, and has collaborated with artists such as 2Cellos, Josipa Lisac, and Massimo. He is also the creator of Pianotron, an original project that boldly blends jazz and cinematic music, redefining genre boundaries.

Joining him at the Masterclass are Adriano Bernobić, a drummer trained in Graz and Paris and one of the most sought-after jazz musicians in the region, and Lidija Strika, a double bassist and composer active on the Dutch, Croatian, and Swiss jazz scenes, known for her ability to effortlessly blend technique with emotion. Both have also received Status Awards for outstanding jazz achievement.

In addition to workshops, lectures, and plenty of playing,
CRNA OVCA JAZZ MASTERCLASS by Zvjezdan Ružić offers something special for all festival visitors – live concerts by the Masterclass mentors and participants of this unique jazz school.

On Friday, 16 May at 8:00 PM, a faculty concert titled JAZZ MASTERS will be held, while on Saturday at 8:00 PM, audiences can enjoy a jam session featuring all Masterclass participants.

Concert locations will be announced soon, and admission to these unique musical evenings will be free of charge.
